Gerry O’Brien heads up the IDI Institute. He organises the design and delivery of an annual program of globally-recognised programs in Foreign Direct Investment, Export Development and Banking. Using IDI’s wide network of practitioners with particular skills in group participation and engagement, he also prepares bespoke workshops and conferences for clients both in Ireland and in-country. IDI courses are designed to ensure government agency executives achieve their personal and organisational goals. Courses focus on skills for key tasks combined with personal development aspects, most often in relation to client engagement, motivation, leadership, team development and organisational change. Gerry and his team also regularly carry out Training Needs Analyses for clients.
Gerry has over 12 years experience in economic development policy, planning, implementation and evaluation. He has worked directly with Irish and international government agencies on enterprise development programmes to support entrepreneurship and high potential start-ups, export development, SME training, access to finance and research, development and innovation.
